In 2017, the Ferrari Challenge reached the milestone of the 25 editions, confirming itself as one of the most long-lived mono-brands. A milestone that coincided with the debut of the 488 Challenge, which for another year coexisted in the same paddock with the 458 Challenge Evo before the latter finally retired. The debut of the new model (the sixth introduced since the first edition of the Cavallino series held in '93) took place on the Laguna Seca circuit in the North American series. This car was also the first used in the trophy to be equipped with a turbo engine. A 3.9-liter V8 engine with a power of 670 hp, well combined with Slide Slip Control (SCC), the system aimed at optimal management of the highest performance. The 488 Challenge subsequently underwent an update with the Evo version which made its debut in the 2019 Mugello World Finals.
